Lord Commander Eloth said we should try to focus on the good this year; last year ended horribly, and I wanted to try to start this year with a positive frame of mind. But, honestly, that\’s not really my style.
I cannot move on without, at the very least, saying a final farewell to the shittiness of 2024. A year filled with unfinished reading lists, projects left undone and more personal problems than I have fingers to count them on.
And at the end of it.
I had to say goodbye to my best friend – the one shining light in my life.
The one I spoke to every day, the one that I told everything to. The one that didn’t judge, but looked at me funny and went back to sleep, because sleep was more important, but hey, I loved him anyway.
I’m not over it.
I look for him in the house for that split second before I remember.
And that’s when it hits the hardest.
There will be no more head fusses, no more thumbing tail on the bed, no more walks.
So, from here on out, blogging will (hopefully) be more positive and (hopefully) more often because I\’ve missed typing away on here.
Be brighter.
Because I can’t dwell on the negative and the harshness of 2024 forever.
I don’t yet know how to make 2025 a better year, yet.
I’m not going to tempt fate and say; how can it get any worse, because the world is cruel and it can always make things worse.
But, if nothing else, I can try Eloth’s approach and see if blogging about more positive things helps lift the mood.
