Blurb/Synopsis

Far out on the Eastern Fringe, the realm of Ultramar stands alone. Having weathered the Word Bearers’ attack on Calth and the subsequent Shadow Crusade against the Five Hundred Worlds, the Ultramarines primarch Roboute Guilliman now draws all loyalist forces to Macragge as he contemplates a new future for mankind. With the arrival of more and more fugitives from the war that has engulfed the rest of the galaxy, all distinction between friend and foe is lost – isolated from Terra by fearsome warp storms, is Guilliman making a bid for power to rival even the renegade Warmaster Horus?

Review

Rating: 1 out of 5.

This is why you shouldn’t wait until 6 months after reading a book to write a review.

Other than Guilliman embarking on the idea of making a new, secondary Imperium to rival Horus, I have no recollection of the events in this book.

But, I rated it 4 stars on Goodreads, so it can’t all be bad!

And in Dave’s review, there is mention of enthusiastic discussions!

Maybe my mind blanked it after the absolute disappointment of Vulkan Lives, which I recently confessed was the biggest disappointment of my entire reading history – I’ll be reviewing that book next, as it appears it’s the book that completely threw off my reviewing mojo… but I’m back now and boy-oh-boy is there a huge rant incoming!

Summary

This book was so good, I can’t remember what happens in it other than loads of Primarchs get together and have a punch-up!

This was way better than Vulkan Lives… Curze in Ultramar being hunted by five of his brothers and Vulkan a mentally insane broken man. As bad as Vulkan Lives was, this book made up for it.
